UltraClear™ Laser

The UltraClear™ Laser is a revolutionary new laser treatment and is the first major development in laser resurfacing in 20 years. The UltraClear™ laser is a 2910nm “cold” fiber erbium laser that delivers fractionated microscopic columns of energy with minimal heat to treat a variety of conditions and improve the appearance of your skin. This unique technology allows us to treat all skin types for a variety of indications with minimal discomfort, (no anesthesia or numbing is required for most treatments), and shorter recovery times. UltraClear™ laser treatments can be performed on any area of the body including the face, neck, chest, and arms. UltraClear™ laser treatments improve pigmentation, such as sun spots (lentigines) and age spots while remodeling collagen and improving texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring.

  • Fractional means the laser energy is delivered in microscopic columns of heat over a small percentage of the skin surface. The untreated portions of skin help promote rapid healing with no scarring and minimal downtime. Fractional treatments are less risky with less downtime because only a fraction of the skin is treated. Treating a fraction of the skin provides benefits for the entire skin surface.

  • 3DMIRACL Treatment

    The 3DMIRACL treatment is performed with no anesthesia to reduce skin discoloration, soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve overall skin texture and tone, and temporarily improve the appearance of pores. After the treatment, you will have a mild sunburn-like redness for 2-4 days. This treatment will give your skin a healthy glow. For the best results, a minimum of 3 treatments are recommended. Treatments can be performed every 4-6 weeks.

    Treatment of Deep lines, Wrinkles and Advanced Discoloration

    For patients with more advanced lines, wrinkles, or discoloration of the skin, a stronger treatment can be performed to stimulate more skin remodeling and production of new collagen. Even with more intense treatments, numbing is not frequently required. As expected, a more intense treatment results in a slightly longer recovery time with sunburn-like redness and mild swelling for approximately 5 days.

    Unwanted Scars

    The UltraClearTM laser is also effective at treating scars caused by acne, surgery, or injury to the skin. Dr. DiGiorgio will discuss the best treatment to improve your scars, what to expect for downtime, and the type of results you can expect from treatment.

    Off the Face

    The UltraClearTM laser can be used to treat wrinkles, discoloration, and scarring on any area of the body including the neck, chest, and arms. Treatments off the face can be combined with facial treatments and can be performed on the same day.

What to expect?

Depending on the type of treatment, your skin may be numbed with a topical anesthetic ointment before the treatment begins. The treatment itself takes about 20 minutes, feels like tiny warm pin pricks and is extremely well-tolerated by most patients. After the treatment, you will have a sun-burn like redness and possibly mild swelling for a few days. Expected downtime varies patient to patient and is dependent on the type of treatment performed. Expectations for the amount of downtime will be discussed with you in detail prior to your treatment. After the treatment, you can return to your routine activities and can apply make-up. Depending on the indication for UltraClearTM laser treatment, Dr. DiGiorgio will recommend the appropriate number of treatments required to achieve your goals. This ranges from 3-6 treatments, with maintenance treatments after.

Dr. DiGiorgio is a board-certified dermatologist and Harvard Fellowship trained in laser and cosmetic dermatology. During her two-year laser and cosmetic fellowship at Harvard, she was trained by Dr. Rox Anderson, the physician inventor of fractional laser treatments.  She is a well-known laser expert with years of experience and has treated thousands of patients. All treatments are performed exclusively by Dr. DiGiorgio. UltraClear™ laser treatment is an elective cosmetic procedure and, therefore, the treatment is not covered by health insurance or FSA.
